The Mid-Atlantic Business Intermediaries Association, Inc. (MABIA) formed in 2003 as the Alliance Brokers Network and later changed its name to the Mid-Atlantic Business Brokers Association. Upon the merger in February, 2007 with the Washington-Baltimore Business Brokers Association (WBBA) which was established in 1987, MABBA became MABIA.

MABIA is a not-for-profit corporation and a cooperative entity. MABIA is a chartered affiliate of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA).

MABIA was formed for the following purposes:

  • To provide a forum for those engaged in the sale of businesses in our region
  • To encourage members to adhere to the principals of the MABIA Code of Ethics
  • To encourage the sharing of business opportunities among its the members
  • To elevate, maintain, and improve the educational standard of its membership
  • To develop and provide a broader and more active market for business opportunities
  • To serve buyers and sellers and to serve the greater interest of the public

MABIA's membership is comprised of both Regular Members; professional Business Brokers, Business Intermediaries, and Mergers & Acquisitions Advisors and Associate Members; allied professionals such as Lenders, Business Appraisers, CPA's, Lawyers, Consultants, Financial Intermediaries, and Trade Publishers.
